A few pictures, not so many words.

Black & White – visiting guardians – Pragfriedhof Stuttgart

When I started the Christmas countdown series, I had one post in mind pretty much immediately. The Weeping Angel. Only the image was not yet done. Not a big problem, though since the site is close to my home. During an afternoon walk through Stuttgart’s Pragfriedhof – the third largest cemetery of Stuttgart – the image was taken. Open for nearly 140 years, it contains the only crematorium in Stuttgart.

Not that I am a big fan of cemeteries, crypts and that kind, but it was fascinating to what lengths families went to honor their lost ones.

  1. Thank you for the photos, I like this kind of images because I like cemeteries with angels and sculptures.

I have photographed older head stones and other symbols of reverence in cemeteries. It’s fascinating to see some of those dates and recognize how short our own cycles of life are and to make the most of each day… as you have with these images!

    • I hear you clearly! It makes you wonder, whether what you do is really worth the effort, or not.
